If you are viewing this site, then you are interested in building computers. I build computers for a hobby. I've been building for about 15 years. Of course, about 25 years ago, I dissected a Commodore 64, but I don't know if that counts.
I want this site to be a place to freely share ideas and hints on tips and possible questions about how to build the best computer system, which stores to shop at, how to get the good deals, where to spend the most money, etc. Do I spend more money on memory or the power supply? The answers may surprise you.
What are the best websites for evaluating CPU performance, video performance, hard drive performance, etc.?
I expect, that over time, all of these
answers and more will be answered in the DigiGar's Computer Builders Forums. Initially, anyone is allowed to post. If you post inappropriately, I'll eventually catch it and delete it. As things get crazy, as I hope they will, then I may have to create an account system. We will see.
I'm writing this site with my Asus P5N-D E8400 computer. I've lost count on how many computers that I have built, but I learned something about power supplies building this one.
As well as building computers I'd also like to talk about games. Not necessarily cheats or hints & tips -- I think there are plenty of sites dedicated to this. But, how do you get a game working smoothly with a particular system setup and video card? How many FPS are you getting with Halo 2? How did you achieve this?
I'm hoping Google does a good job and gives me some good links to some good online retail outlets to do some shopping for computer hardware so feel free to click around.
